Protect has welcomed a new specialist law firm James & West Law – The Whistleblowing Experts, established by two former Protect Chief Executives Cathy James and Francesca West.
Francesca and Cathy have been working with whistleblowers and specialising in whistleblowing law since 2005. Both worked at Protect, for 14 years each, both having a tenure as Chief Executive.
Together they oversaw Protect’s third party intervention into many Supreme Court whistleblowing cases in the last 15 years, including Clyde & Co LLP and another v Bates van Winkelhof and Gilham v Ministry of Justice. They also oversaw Protect’s intervention in the Court of Appeal in Osipov v Timis & Sage.
Protect Chief Executive Liz Gardiner said: “Cathy and Frankie are unrivalled in their knowledge of the whistleblowing landscape, so this is really good news for whistleblowers. Although Protect intervenes in public policy whistleblowing cases, we don’t provide representation at tribunal, so this is a much needed service.
